Ὠγυγίη - Ομφαλός της θάλασσας

...found them inside. They lit a big fire on the barbecue, which spread all over the island, burning cedar, hemlock and thuja. There she is: singing with her beautiful voice and weaving with the golden shuttle on the loom. Around the cave was a dense forest of poplars, alders and fragrant cypresses. Birds were sitting on the branches with their wings spread out: Hawks, owls and long-tailed terns that spent the day at sea. And up ahead, a rich and fertile vineyard, laden with grapes, surrounded the deep cave. Four fountains in a row, one on each side, and yet each of them pours its gurgling water somewhere else. On either side, soft meadows with wild violets and wild celery...
